The Municipality of Brockton is hosting a Asset Management Plan Public Engagement Town Hall at the Walkerton Community Centre on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Residents can provide their input on the current and proposed levels of service through the Town Hall, or our anonymous survey through the Municipal website.

The Municipality of Brockton is currently recruiting for members on 4 Committees: Accessibility Advisory Committee, Brockton Child Care Centre Committee, Brockton Parks and Recreation Committee, and Elmwood Community Centre Board. The Council of the Municipality of Brockton received an owner’s application to repeal By-law No. 88-15, which designates 12 Concession 10 Cargill (Henry Cargill "White" House) as being of heritage value or interest under the Ontario Heritage Act. Any person may serve on the Municipal Clerk, a Notice of Objection in writing, setting out the reasons for the objection and all relevant facts. A Notice of Objection is then considered by Council in its deliberation on the matter. Objections are due by February 21, 2025.

A Public Information Meeting regarding the proposed Young Municipal Drain will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cargill Community Centre. Affected landowners will be informed on the status of the drainage project including proposed design, cost estimates, and property assessments.

The Municipality of Brockton is undertaking a review and update of its Walkerton Official Plan and Brockton Comprehensive Zoning By-law. Council will hold a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers and virtually on Zoom to discuss the review, process and any revisions that may be required to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law. Council of the Municipality of Brockton will enter into Closed Session to address matters pertaining to:

  • Personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - Committee Mandate Discussion, Individual Property Culvert Dispute, False Alarm Appeal
  • A proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board - Facility Repurchase Proposal, Property Repurchase Proposal
  • Labour relations or employee negotiations - Staffing Update, Road Department Update
  • Advice that is subject to solicitor/client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose - Private Well Update
  • A position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiation carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the municipality or local board - Smoking Enforcement Proposal
