2026 ROMA Conference

Mayor Peabody, Deputy Mayor Hutcheon, Councillor McLean, Councillor Travale and CAO Watson will be attending the 2026 ROMA Conference in Toronto January 18-20, 2026 to advocate for important issues in our community, including meeting with the following Ministries: 

• Ministry of the Attorney General with the County of Bruce to discuss Court Security and Prisoner Transportation Costs
• Ministry of the Solicitor General to discuss the Financial Impact of the O.P.P. Billing Model and Court Security and Prisoner Transportation Costs
• Ministry of Health to discuss funding for the Walkerton Hospital X-Ray Suite Replacement

Special Council Meeting (Councillor Vacancy Appointment)

Council will hold a Special Council Meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers to appoint an individual to fill the vacant Councillor seat. Each of the seven (7) candidates that applied for the Council Vacancy position will present to Council, and then Council will proceed to vote on the individual they wish to appoint as the new Councillor.

Special Council Meeting (2026 Budget)

Council will hold a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers to consider the 2026 Mayor's Budget followed by the regular Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
