The Municipality of Brockton is hosting a virtual Public Information Centre regarding the Riversdale Bridge on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Zoom Video Conferencing. The Municipality of Brockton will be collecting leaves in Walkerton, Lake Rosalind,and Marl Lakes on Monday, November 9, 2020. Leaves must be placed inside biodegradable kraft paper waste bags (plastic bags will not be accepted) and placed at curbside by no later than 7:00 a.m. for collection.

In addition to the continuing McGivern Street reconstruction, the intersection of Yonge Street and McGivern Street will be closed all day on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 for paving. Durham Street from Jackson Street to Victoria Street in Walkerton will be temporarily closed on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. for the Walkerton BIA Hometown Christmas Market. The Christmas Market will occur on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout the downtown and Durham Street Park in Walkerton. Bridge No. 0006 located on Concession 8 E between the Greenock/Brant Townline and Sideroad 5 in Greenock will be closed to traffic as of Monday, November 16, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.  Additional information can be viewed on our website: Brockton.ca/GreenockBridge6

The Ontario government is seeking public input on its proposal to reduce the amount of food and organic waste going to landfills. The public can provide their feedback on amendments to the Food and Organic Waste Policy Statement, which is open for public comment on the Environmental Registry until November 11, 2020. These comments will help inform updates to the policy which are designed to prevent and reduce food waste and explore innovative options for compostable packaging changes.

Staff would like to determine if any Council members are planning on attending the virtual Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) 2021 Annual Conference, and which delegations they would like to request. The deadline to submit delegation requests is Monday, November 30, 2020. 

Council of the Municipality of Brockton will enter into Closed Session to address matters pertaining to:

  • A proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board – East Ridge Business Park Offers
  • Labour relations or employee negotiations - Staffing Update, Staffing Compensation Proposal
