The Council of the Municipality of Brockton will enter into Closed Session to address a matter pertaining to labour relations and employee negotiations - External Review Staffing Recommendations

Julie Sawchuk of Sawchuk Accessible Solutions will be hosting a Accessibility Education Workshop on September 11, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Centre in Walkerton. The Municipality of Brockton and Accessibility Advisory Committee invite members of the public, business owners, and service clubs to attend the educational workshop to learn more about how we can create accessible spaces to honour the needs of everyone. 

The Municipality of Brockton is accepting applications to replace the vacant Councillor seat on Brockton Council. Applications are open from 8:30 a.m. on August 15, 2024 until 2:00 p.m. on September 16, 2024. Visit Brockton.ca/CouncilVacancy to learn more about the process.

The Municipality of Brockton is holding a public meeting on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers to discuss implementing a Development Charges By-law. Development charges are fees on new developments that fund growth-related costs to the Municipality, as governed by the Development Charges Act, 1997. The Brockton Heritage Committee are hosting Doors Open Brockton on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. featuring 12 historical and unique sites in Brockton. Visit Brockton.ca/DoorsOpen to learn more.

The Municipality of Brockton issues licenses for individuals and businesses wishing to sell goods and services within Brockton. There are two types of licenses currently issued: Transient Trader Licenses or Outdoor Vending/Refreshment Vehicle Licenses, which are governed under two different By-Laws. The Municipality is looking for feedback on vendor licensing regime as we look to amend these outdated By-Laws to provide more clarity for vendors.
