Bruce and Grey Counties are hosting a Welcoming Week September 10-19, 2021 to celebrate the diverse communities across Grey-Bruce, and continue to foster an inclusive community and welcome newcomers. BASWAR is conducting it's 24th Annual Food Drive in Brant on September 14th, Walkerton on September 16th, and Greenock on September 24th. Please place canned food donations in untied plastic bags next to your blue box if you want to participate.

Walkerton and Hanover residents can attend a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Public Works Yard, 70 14th Avenue in Hanover.

The following bridges and roads are temporarily closed for reconstruction projects: D.S. Weis Memorial Bridge (Concession 8), Chepstow Road (Concession 6), George Street, Walkerton, and Queen Street (Concession 10), Elmwood. Council amended the Consolidated Traffic and Parking By-law to restrict Parking along Lake Rosalind Road 1 at the previous meeting after the conclusion of the public consultation period. 

Mayor Peabody will bring forward a Notice of Motion at the Council Meeting.

The Council of the Municipality of Brockton will enter into Closed Session in order to address matters pertaining to:

  • Personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees – Staffing Update
  • A proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board - East Ridge Business Park Offer
